ROCKSTAR VANCOUVER - IT MANAGER

The IT Manager provides IT leadership and technical support for the Rockstar Vancouver Studio. This role oversees the day-to-day IT operations and related systems. The role will focus on supporting the Vancouver studio and associated development projects, but will also regularly liaise with various IT groups across Rockstar and parent Take-Two. Primary responsibilities include technical direction, ongoing project management, and operational support.  Applicants will be highly motivated and organized, able to work as part of a team, while also posses the ability to work without direct and constant supervision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead point of escalation for Tier1, 2 and 3 technical issues with Windows, Mac OS, and Linux based desktops and servers for local studio, working with global Engineering team to escalate issues as needed.
  • Supervise day to day technical support covering local and distributed development projects.
  • Insure product development teams have near 100% uptime for development work.
  • Local lead on products such as: Perforce, VMware, Exchange, Active Directory, as well as other server and back-end systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documents covering operation, design and inventory of studio network
  • Manage vendor relationships and inventories.
  • Provide mentorship and technical advisory services to other members of the IT or PD groups.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required):

  • 5+ years’ experience with Microsoft Active Directory including related technologies and standards like: DHCP, DNS, LDAP, CIFS, DFS, etc.
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Perforce, SVN, and Alienbrain.
  • Experience with NetApp filers.
  • Ability to guide development teams as needed for technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation from the beginning of a project through completion.
  • Ability to mentor and lead other staff members.
  • Budget management and vendor negotiation experience.
  • Required to be able to work flexible hours, occasionally rotating shifts as necessary, working weekends, or working off hours, traveling as needed.
  • Dedication, teamwork and professionalism.Positive, outgoing personality with the ability to handle high pressure situations
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, MCSE certification, or equivalent experience.

QUALIFICATIONS (Desired):

  • Knowledge of or experience with game development systems is advantageous.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of principles of TCP/IP based networks, including network hardware, familiarity with switch and router installation, accelerators, displays, etc., maintenance, and management;
  • Basic scripting skills (vbscript, powershell, php,  etc.)
  • Canadian citizenship and residency
